It's Sunday....

And I was going to get so much done this weekend. Instead, we've all been sneezing & sniffling and lazing about. I did get my first baby washcloth finished for the Knitting Olympics. You can see my progress on that, along with my teammates, on our team blog.

I did take a break from knitting (and cursing the knitting) to make a set of stitch markers. A fellow Sybermom requested a set to give as a gift. I love these little red hearts.

We're off to church this morning. Wasn't going to go, but today is the day of the Secret Pal reveal and we can't not go - we're a secret pal to another kid and our kid has a Secret Pal who has been really sweet to him, so off we go. I am going to slide on the pot luck, though. Just call me a lazy freeloader...

What on earth was I thinking?

Oh, wait. Thinking. Right. That should have come into play somewhere along the way. I plead the Nyquil defense.

So, I'm playing in The 2006 Knitting Olympics because...um, yeah. Still working on that. My fellow teammates will be like the Austrians in the Alpine event & I'm that guy from Bermuda, just doing my best...

Which is not, apparently, purling. I have yet to figure out why those stitches are so loose. I'm sure it's some time-honored newbie knitter thing, but it's pissing me off. I wonder if there is an Olympic knitting record for longest time evah spent knitting a pink cotton dishcloth?

There are hearts appearing. It only took 2 hours for 11-ish rows (because I haven't learned yet how I'm supposed to count those rows I pull out and painstakingly put back on the needle...)

You know you're in trouble when

You take your 4 y/o to the craft store.

Make that stores.

I now have a pair of circs that are most definitely not a size 10, despite all the letters all over the packaging that attest that they are. And, had I been in my right mind at the time, I might have noticed that they were about 6 sizes too big.

Sigh.

Oh, look. Another blog.

Yeah, so I'm jumping on the blog bandwagon thingie.

What is the world coming to? The apocalypse must be near, seeing as how I have taken up knitting.

I know, I know. You can pick yourself up off the floor now...And you can admire my first finished piece. Oh, yeah. You can admire the kid, too....
